My sister’s cat television!!

My sisters spoiled catsMy sister has just recently moved in to a new house out in the country.  They have two cats and wanted to make sure they were safe and so they decided that the cats would need to be inside cats because of all the threats in the country.  They could be attacked by hawks, coyotes etc.  They actually decided to put a sun-room on their new house so the cats would have a place to look out.  I have a feeling there are some very happy squirrels now in Deer Haven Estates.  They have food laid out for them every morning and all they have to do is perform in front of the kitties.  Which is of course no problem as the cats are inside and the squirrels are outside.

This sun-room has become quite the kitty theatre.  As you Sarah watching squirrels in the sunroomcan tell by the pictures it is a great source of cat entertainment.  This is Sarah looking at her squirrel television.  Obviously the squirrel isn’t too concerned about Sarah.  They have named their squirrels also.  They are Alvin, Theodore and Simon.  Alvin is of course the one who likes to cause the most problems.  The squirrels really are cute to watch.  We all ended up sitting out there watching the squirrel theatre so I guess it isn’t just kitty entertainment.  It is fun to be that close to a squirrel and it doesn’t bother them in the least.

My sister’s rescue cats!!

Max a black & white American short hairI have been in Colorado visiting my sister.  My sister and her husband had no pets for  years.  Several years ago they had a black & white American short hair cat that started hanging out at their house.  They would feed him and he was often over there.  Winter arrived and they came back from a week long trip and he came running.  It appeared that he had been abandoned.  They were going to let him in to the garage for a short time.  Well long story short Max invaded their life.  They fell in love and started talking about maybe finding another black & white as a companion for him.  They really didn’t expect it to be another rescue cat though.

That summer Sara came on the scene. My sister called meMy sisters tortoise manx almost hysterical that this little tortoise cat had showed up at their house and she thought someone had cut off her tail.  I told her that there were manx cats that did not have tails.  I have to give her credit though as Sara had been on her own for a while and had a questionable diet and she was bloody where a tail would have been on a normal cat.  Several other neighbors had tried to coax Sara to eat.  She sat at their back patio for several days and then jumped on my brother-in-laws lap.  She chose wisely!!  So my sister ended up adopting two rescue cats.

My sister and her husband have since moved out to the country and have made both cats complete inside cats.  Sara is totally content, now Max still likes the outside.  Max is able to go out on their upstairs deck during the day so he does get some outside time.  They are afraid if they let them outside they would lose them to either coyotes or hawks.

What a difference these little rescue cats have made in my sister and brother-in-laws life.  They love the kitties and the feeling is mutual.
